New Indiana Gun Law

Did you know that in the State of Indiana, you are no longer required to possess a handgun permit to legally carry, conceal, or transport within the state.

This may sound like anyone can carry a handgun, but that is not the case. A Prohibited Person is not able to carry a handgun within the state. This includes, but is not limited to a person under indictment, a person who has been convicted of a domestic violence crime, and a person who has been committed to a mental institution. If you would like to learn more, you can review Indiana Code 35-47-2-1.5 or you can apply for a state-issued handgun permit with the Indiana State Police. Although a permit is not required, it is completely free and will verify your ability to lawfully carry a handgun in Indiana.
